Loggerheads Country Park

Loggerheads Country Park

Loggerheads Country Park is located in Mold in Flintshire, Wales. It is rich in wildlife and heritage with a wooded valley that follows the River Alyn and features high cliffs from the Clwydian Range of mountains. You can also enjoy views of the range’s tallest mountain, Moel Famau.

The site was once the location of a corn mill dating to the early 19th century. The water wheel was closed in the 1940s and restored in the 1990s so it can still be seen today. The park has a bandstand, a boating lake, a tea room and refreshment kiosks.

There are a number of waymarked paths and you can enjoy nature trails and walking tours. One of the mill buildings now houses an interactive audiovisual display explaining more about the local landscape. Look out for Devil’s Gorge within the park. There are two solid limestone walls that are 30 metres high. You can cross a bridge over the gorge as part of one of the park’s walking routes.
