Attraction Overview
The York Dungeon is a tourist attraction located in the centre of York, North Yorkshire. It is mostly aimed at tweens, and teens, (and adults as well) but some older primary, children may be brave enough to visit. The experience is pretty full-on with 360-degree sets and griping storytelling featuring 10 live actor shows telling the story of 2000 years of York’s dark history. You can expect special effects, specially designed sets and gripping storytelling.
You will meet famous characters including Vikings, Isabella Billington and Guy Fawkes. Can you survive the witch in York Castle Dungeons? The scariest show in dungeon history. You will laugh and scream as you experience surprises walking through the depths of the dungeon.

There is no cafe, however, there are options nearby where you can purchase food and drinks.

Not for the faint-hearted. There are 10 shows with live actors covering 2000 years of York’s dark past. There are toilets.
What are the ticket prices?
An adult ticket costs from £17.95 if purchased online in advance. Other pricing options including combined tickets are available including discounted tickets for younger visitors.

Is there parking?
There is parking nearby and charges apply. It is easier and cheaper to visit using one of York’s excellent Park and Ride.
