Attraction Overview
The Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre is located in Hawes, North Yorkshire. They are located in the heart of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park. They are custodians of a 1,000-year heritage and their skilled, master cheesemakers handcraft artisan cheese to time-honoured recipes.
The visitor centre has seen continual investment and development for over 25 years. It comprises the Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese experience with a new Demonstration room and a cheese-making viewing gallery. There is also a shop with a complimentary tasting of over 20 varieties, a restaurant, a coffee shop and an extensive gift shop.
You can watch their master cheesemakers in action and journey through the art of cheese-making. There are even some much-loved Wallace and Gromit characters to have a photo next to. Tours are self-guided. It is a wonderfully hands-on interactive experience that will help you learn all about the process behind the creamy Wensleydale cheese we’ve all come to love.
