What is there to do at Golden Acre Park?

The park first opened in 1932 and was taken over by the council in 1945. It is a lovely place to feed the ducks and the park also benefits from open spaces and woodland. There is a nature reserve over the road, Adel Dam is owned and run by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and it’s worth visiting there if you want to extend your day out.

Bands play in the park on Sundays regularly throughout the summer. The park is set in 179 acres of mature woodland. There is no play area at the park but it is still a pleasant place to visit with your family. As well as ducks and geese they also have some really friendly squirrels. The circular walk is around 2 hours which is where you will find most of the squirrels. There are even a few places for paddling if you visit on a warm day.
