Located in Fountain Park close to the city of Edinburgh is the Cineworld Cinema. It is a 13-screen cinema which is home to the only IMAX theatre in Edinburgh and the only ScreenX in Scotland. Cineworld is one of the leading UK multiplex cinema chains. They show the latest movies for young and old. There are parking and public transport links.
This cinema shows some films in RealD 3D. Their reusable and stylish RealD cinema eyewear looks great and performs spectacularly (glass hire costs £1). Plus they show 2D films and films in 4DX, a revolutionary cinematic experience that stimulates all five senses.
The cinema also shows some films with a 270o viewing experience. ScreenX is a state-of-the-art atmospheric surround sound experience with a 270o projection. The duration of the 270o projection varies with each film. The complex also has an IMAX-enabled screen. IMAX is the world’s most immersive cinema experience and they also show films in IMAX 3D where you can watch films to the fullest.
At this cinema, there is a Baskin Robbins ice cream, Starbucks and a bar. Popcorn, drinks, hot dogs and nachos are also available. Movies for junior screenings are available at this location which are discounted sessions for children under 16. Plus there are Cinebabies screenings that are exclusively for parents and babies.
