Go Ape Grizedale
Go Ape at Grizedale Forest, Cumbria is set in a stunning location and has five experiences. There is The Treetop Challenge, Treetop adventure, Treetop adventure Plus, Zip Trekking adventure and Forest Segway.
Treetop Challenge – Tackle high platforms and tricky tree crossings. free-fall through the Douglas Firs and take a trip over the busy road below, or challenge yourself with the free-fall Tarzan Swing. The challenge takes 2 to 3 hours to navigate your way around. There is a minimum age of 10 years and a minimum height of 1.4m.
Treetop adventure – With intricate crossings, wobbly bridges and great zip-wire rides, all designed with the younger family in mind. There is no minimum age, however, there is a minimum height of 1m. Duration 1 hour.
Treetop Adventure Plus – This is great for teenagers wanting to push themselves a bit further. It is designed for children above 1.2m and 6 years of age. Duration 1 hour. The challenge includes the Treetop adventure plus an extension with trickier crossings, wobblier bridges and an even longer zip wire.
Zip Trekking adventure – This is one for the zipline fanatics. There are seven ziplines totalling a whopping 3km, zip wire heaven. The longest zip wire is 500 metres. Duration 2-3 hours. There is a minimum age of 13 years and a minimum height of 1.4 metres.
Forest Segway – This experience offers the very best of the Lake District. They are heavy-duty all-terrain Segways on spectacular off-road trails. Duration 1 hour. There is no minimum height/age, however, participants must weigh at least 45kg/7st.
During the darker months, they also offer Sundown Sessions which are worth checking out. Duration times including safety briefings. Once you’ve had your treetop fun there’s plenty in the forest to keep everyone entertained. There are walking trails, cycling trails and a Sculpture in the forest exhibition. There are a number of car parks but charges apply. Go Ape is closest to the Albert Bridge Gate and the car park there.
