Sick To Death is a new museum in Chester detailing the history of medicine. It’s a fun way for kids to learn all about our pretty gruesome history when it comes to all things medicine. Things to do at Sick To Death
The Grim Reaper and the ancient Greek God of medicine guide you through the history of medicine. You will experience the past in a way that has never been done before. In the Diagnosis Alley make sure you take care to avoid the deadly diseases that lurk on every surface.
You will examine the reason why autopsies were so important in understanding the human body. There is the Turdis, the only time-travelling toilet in existence. You will learn about poo and more. There is a section about sex so you may want to miss that part with younger kids in tow (it is easy to avoid). Plus there is plenty more to learn about and discover. A visit takes most people around 45 minutes to an hour.
They also sometimes offer 1-hour Roman walking tours around the local area. A fully costumed Roman soldier will guide you around Chester. The tour covers the major buildings of the fortress passed en route. The history of Roman Chester is broadly covered on the tour.
