Barnwell Country Park
Barnwell Country Park is a free-to-visit park in Oundle, near Peterborough, in Northamptonshire. The park comprises 37 acres of lakes, riverbank and meadows.
Things to do at Barnwell Country Park
There is a range of walks around the park and you can download or pick up maps to help you find your way around. The walks are waymarked along the way. There is a nature trail and an orienteering map. Plus activity packs for kids and scavenger hunts.
The park has a woodland adventure play area and a hobbit garden for toddlers. The adventure playground has one of the best zip wires around. You can also purchase duck-friendly food from the shop as there are plenty of hungry mouths to feed. There is a Wildlife garden behind the centre, where you can learn how to help the wildlife in your own garden too.
You can also pick a spot and fish around the lake. There are also picnic tables dotted around the park. The lake also has a small beach area where kids can play in the sand. You can also make use of the purpose-built BBQ here while your kids play.
