Burwell Museum and Windmill
Museum Overview
Burwell Museum and Windmill is a great family-friendly attraction in Cambridgeshire. You can explore the windmill, follow their trails, look at vintage vehicles and explore the old schoolroom and village shop.
They usually open the windmill and run mill tours every day they are open. You can climb the four floors of the mill and learn how it was used to grind flour. There is a trail in here and kids can try on Miller’s costumes.
The museum is set amongst some beautifully preserved historic farm buildings. The museum looks at the history of the village and brings history to life with recreated true-to-the-time interiors with kitchens, a living room and a child’s bedroom. There is an interactive mechanical telephone exchange, a shepherd’s hut and more. Many of the exhibits are hands-on and interactive. Throughout the season they offer a range of family-friendly activities.
