North Bay Heritage Railway
North Bay Railway is located in the North Bay area of Scarborough, North Yorkshire. It is a lovely heritage railway that was first opened in 1931. Other attractions include a historic water chute, water walkers, pedalos and a high ropes course.
What is there to do at North Bay Heritage Railway?
The railway is a great way to travel to or from Scarborough Sea Life. It journeys along the park, past a crazy golf course staying close to the sea and offers beautiful views of Scarborough’s north bay. It then stops at the Sea Life Centre before its return journey. They are accessible to wheelchairs and buggies and even dogs are welcome to ride on their trains. They also have special event trains such as their popular Santa special.
There is a Skytrail which is a two level high ropes course with bridges and beams. Children must be at least 5 years old and 1m tall, anyone less than 1.2m must be accompanied by an adult.
The historic water chute has been listed as one of the top 10 Vintage Seaside attractions by The Guardian and is one of only three left in the country (the others are at Hull’s East Park and Wickstead park in Northamptonshire).
You can also go boating on the lake during the warmer months with peddle boats available to hire. Children will love the giant water ball walkers which are basically like a sealed hamster ball. This is suitable for children 5 years and over.
