Scarborough Footgolf
Attraction Overview
Scarborough Footgolf is located close to the village of Cayton, near Scarborough, North Yorkshire. It is a dedicated FootGolf attraction with one regular footgolf course plus one adventure course which you can take as seriously (or not as seriously) as you please.
You can pick up a scorecard but as we expected it to be pretty rubbish we saw it as a general kickabout. As total novices, the main regular course wasn’t as tough as we were expecting. They have 9 well-maintained holes each being quite some distance and are set out as a ‘par’ just like in real golf.
You will walk quite a long way during your visit. It can be played with anything from 2-5 players. Teams larger than this are split up. Once you have completed the course you can go around again. We chose to also have a go at their adventure course. This is more for fun and it is incredibly challenging in places. You are given a pole in case you need to fish your football out of certain hazards. The course is set in woodland with a different challenge for each hole.
Challenges include kicking your ball past a goalie, through a split tree, over some water, through a tunnel and more. The final hole is the most challenging and depending on how determined you are you could be there for some time trying to get your ball in the hole. Our top tip is to wear sturdy shoes as they are proper footballs you are kicking about. Each course takes around 30 minutes to complete.
