Sledmere House & Gardens

Sledmere House and Gardens are located inland in the East Riding of Yorkshire. There are things to do indoors and outdoors, although if you do wish to visit the house it has limited opening dates compared to the grounds, farm and play park.
Things to do at Sledmere House and Gardens
At Sledmere there is a farm park. It is small but there are plenty of friendly characters including goats, pigs, horses and rabbits. A little further along from here, you will find the Spotty Pig adventure playground. Here you will find a zip wire, swings and plenty to climb on.
Also outdoors you will find a circular walk around the perimeter of the deer park and straight across it. (close during some special events, and during the rutting season). There are other grounds you can still walk around including a very impressive walled garden. In the summer months and into Halloween there is a maize maze at Sledmere.
In the house, there is a small wagoners museum. When the house is open families can pick up a House quiz which is a fun and interesting way to learn about the house. The house is both Georgian and Edwardian as it was almost destroyed by fire in 1911. Luckily most of the contents were saved and can be seen in the house today.
