Robin Hoods Bay

Robin Hoods Bay

Robin Hood’s Bay is our favourite seaside village along the Yorkshire coast (in fact in pretty much the whole of the UK). It is the most picturesque and beautiful place. The drive there is equally picturesque. It is a small fishing village a little south of Whitby in North Yorkshire.

Things to do at Robin Hood’s Bay review

To spend a good few hours here it is essential to spend some time on the beach and perhaps enjoy some food while you are there. Make sure you check the tide times before you visit.

If you are lucky you may even find some fossils on the beach. There are also lots of rockpools to hunt for crabs and other creatures of the sea. One thing to know before you visit is that Robin Hood’s Bay is set on a very steep hill. Only village traffic is allowed down so you have to park at the top.

The larger (pay and display) car park is quite a walk away and although steep there are plenty of opportunities to look in shops and stop for photos on the way up and down. There is also a playground at the top.

There’s even a little museum with fishing-related displays. The Old Coastguard station is also now a visitor centre. It’s small but there are a few fun interactive exhibits. There are lots of quaint old pubs in Robin Hood’s Bay which are great for a spot of food and drink.
