Belton House National Trust
Belton House is run by the National Trust and is located near Grantham in Lincolnshire. It boasts one of the biggest adventure playgrounds not only of the National Trust but in the whole of the UK. Belton House is great fun no matter what the weather.
What is there to do at Belton House?
If the weather isn’t being kind to you there is an indoor wooden adventure play. This is located in the Ride Play cafe. If you are visiting on a busy day make sure you visit here first to get your one-hour slot booked in. The equipment is mostly suitable for children aged 4 and over, toddlers, will struggle. There are slides, a playhouse, a tunnel, rope bridges and more.
The outdoor adventure playground is vast. There’s something for all ages with slides, climbing frames, adventure areas, see-saws, water play, bridges, zip wires, instruments, den building, playhouses and so much more. Also in the adventure playground, you will find a miniature railway. This opens most days at 11 am for rides which are an additional cost. The grounds at Belton House are vast and you are welcome to explore them. You may even spot some deer. Near the house, there is a fountain, orangery, church (not always open) lake and a mini-maze.
You can pay to just visit the grounds of Belton House (which includes the play areas) but you can also pay extra to look around Belton House (all free, to members of the National Trust). Look out for special family-friendly tours although you are welcome to explore the house at your own pace. The house is packed full of treasures.

Is there food and drink available?
There are plenty of eating options at Belton house. There is the Stables cafe, Pup & Saucer dog cafe, Ride Play cafe and the Muddy Hands kiosk over in the adventure playground. You are welcome to bring a picnic although the designated picnic areas are outdoors.
What are the main things to do?
Huge adventure playground, craft discovery centre, vast grounds with things to see and explore including an orangery and maze, indoor wooden adventure play, a historical house to explore and a deer park. Toilets and cafe. Not all facilities are available all year round.
What are the ticket prices?
Free to members of the National Trust
An adult standard ticket costs £16. Children are £8 and children under 5 are free. Other pricing options are available.
