This summer we spent two wonderful nights at the Parc Asterix-themed hotel Les Quais de Lutece. We absolutely loved the hotel and our room. We have very exacting standards which can lead to grumpy us at times but the place was spotless, the staff were friendly and it all looked magical. You honestly can’t ask for more.

The parking is free at the hotel and once you are there you don’t need to move your car. The park is an approximately 10-minute walk from the hotel. You also have early entry to the park from 9:30 am which gives you 30 minutes extra before it opens to everyone.

We loved staying on-site, especially as we were so hot on the first day we were desperate for some chill time. We headed back to the hotel for a couple of hours and luxuriated in their fabulous air con before we headed back in.

During the summer most rides stay open until 10 pm and then there are fireworks at 10:15 pm which on the second night I couldn’t really hear from the hotel. We had already seen them on the first night as we were able to visit the park late at night to watch them without a park ticket.

Parc Asterix is located near Paris and it was a 2hr30 drive for us from Calais. It was a really easy drive with just two motorways to navigate and one toll to pay.

The entrance to the hotel looks like you are entering a wooden castle and the interiors are equally fabulous. The attention to detail is just amazing. Everywhere you look there is something else to look at or marvel at. We spent a good length of time just walking around taking it all in.

The photo below was the view from our room, not bad hey! We were on the second floor. There are three floors across most of the hotel and there is a lift. As well as having air-conditioned bedrooms most of the communal areas of the hotel were also air-conditioned. The hotel has been designed as a tribute to when Paris was known in Roman times as Lutetia. Their rooms sleep from 1 to 5 people and it is a 4* hotel.

We had a lovely and spacious family room. The main bedroom was off to the left with a big double bed, two tables, coffee-making facilities and a large TV on the wall. Off to the right, there was a wardrobe with a large safe and a small fridge which was great for keeping our daily drinks cold before we headed into the park. Apart from lounging around enjoying the air con and sleeping, we didn’t spend much time in the room.

Off the main bedroom, there was then a separate toilet, a shower room with a large sink and much to my son’s delight a curtained-off bunk bedroom.

My photo of our shower room honestly doesn’t do it justice. It was fabulous, clean, modern and as good as many 5* hotels we’ve stayed in. Breakfast is included in your stay and you can also upgrade to include an evening meal in their buffet restaurant. All rooms have free Wi-Fi and they also offer luggage storage, should you need it.

There is water running between each side of the hotel and the restaurant is pictured over the bridge in the photo below. Breakfast and dinner were served buffet style. There was a huge amount of choice with breakfast being particularly impressive. Even the pickiest of eaters would have found something to eat.

On our arrival we checked into our room and then headed for the bar to enjoy one of their wonderful cocktails, they even have some fabulous mocktails. The snacks were equally impressive and the room is in keeping with the design of the hotel. It was a great place to sit and unwind after a long journey over from England.

Another really nice touch at night can be seen in the photo below. This lamp was right outside our window and at night it glowed as if there are lit coals in the basket.

There are three hotels at Parc Asterix and if you stay overnight you are able to access the park 30 minutes before it opened to the public. They only open three rides but it certainly means you can start your day with a shorter queue time.

Every morning at Les Quais De Lutece they have a character meet and greet. When we were there this was around the time of 9:15 am. As you can see my son was very happy about this!

We spent two fun days in Asterix Parc. We rode many of their rides twice and we have put together a list of our top 10 favourite rides. I can highly recommend a stay at Les Quais De Lutece. 2 nights and 2 days of park tickets were perfect for us.
