On our Easter break to Denmark, we stayed 5 nights at the Copenhagen Marriott Hotel. This is a fabulous waterside hotel located in the city centre of Copenhagen. We were a few minutes walk from the main restaurant district and attractions so we didn’t need a car for the duration of our stay. Bike riding is very popular in Copenhagen and there are cycle paths to make it easier to get around should you want to bring your bikes.
You can choose to book a room roadside or facing the river. We had a 2 double bed room which I must say is a great alternative to a twin room, what luxury.

Marriott Hotel Copenhagen City Centre
The Copenhagen Marriott Hotel has a 5-star rating with most review platforms giving the hotel at least 4.5 out of 5. There is complimentary Wi-Fi access throughout the hotel and our rooms were incredibly clean.
In the main foyer of the hotel, there is a bar area where you can also purchase food. We enjoyed a wonderful club sandwich there on our first day. It’s a great place to sit and enjoy the goings on of the river. The hotel also has a restaurant which is also where their buffet breakfast is served.
As mentioned about their twin rooms there are two double beds. Travelling with my son we often end up with a tiny bed each so to have a whole double to ourselves was such a treat. The room was large and comfortable. There was a flat-screen TV and floor-to-ceiling windows that showcased our view of the river.
You can also have a rollaway bed in the room for a small additional charge per night. We also had slippers and bathrobes we could borrow. Also in the room, there was a table with a chair, an iron, an ironing board and a safe.
Other facilities in the room included a coffee and tea maker. They do not provide complimentary water at this hotel. There is 24-hour room service. One thing we were impressed with was the number of English language channels including many Danish channels that seem to import our TV programmes and films.
The bathroom was also spacious with a short above the bath. There were a few complimentary items including tissues.
Like many hotels, their shampoo, shower gel and conditioner are now fixed above the bath. It was virtually impossible getting the shower gel into the bath for a bubble bath so if you want a bath I recommend bringing your own toiletries.
Waterside View Marriott Copenhagen
Even in relatively bad weather, the view from our window was worth the extra charge for a riverside view. There was always so much going on. The river has a number of bathing areas so you can often watch people bravely going for a dip. It’s also a popular place for people enjoying exercise.
Marriott Copenhagen Breakfast
When we booked our room rate we couldn’t include breakfast so it was an extra charge for us. It is expensive so I thought I’d include a few photos to show you what it’s like. There is so much choice and despite the high charge, it was excellent.
Being in Denmark the one thing we had really looked forward to was some Danish pastries. These did not disappoint, in fact, they were some of the best Danish pastries we’ve ever had.
For European guests, there was a good choice of meats, cheeses, bread and even smoked salmon. Plus you could have a glass or two of bubbly with alcohol.
The fresh fruit section was one of the best we’ve ever seen in any hotel. Just look at this for choice and quality.
They also had an area of hot food which included bacon (lots of it), beans, scrambled eggs and potatoes. There were also either waffles or pancakes with a choice of sauces. My highlight though was the chef that cooked you to order either fried eggs or a pancake with a choice of fillings. This was my main go-to for breakfast during our stay.
