For the ultimate sweet treat in London, why not pay a visit to Hans and Gretel in Camden Market? I gave my son some money to spend there and I also treated my Mum to a Chimney Cake. He absolutely loved visiting Hans and Gretel for the first time and whenever we visit London now he always asks to go. It’s like nowhere else I’ve ever been to. It’s also worth visiting to be able to see and experience Camden Market. It’s such a quirky and interesting part of London.

Hans and Gretel London UK Fairytale Inspired Desserts

Hans and Gretel is picture perfect with characters to pose for photos by and such a wonderful interior. Most people purchase their treats to take away but there are a few tables inside if you want to sit down. Everywhere you look there is something fun, bright and colourful to look at and I’m not just talking about the food.

They advertise themselves as “A fairytale place for the child inside us”. What a great way to see yourselves! The store opened in Camden Market in 2019 and there are other stores around the world. The design was inspired by the story of Hans and Gretel and their aim is to create and serve the tastiest most ‘extra’ treats in town. Stepping inside feels like you have stepped into a fairytale.

On one side of the room, there are lots of different sweet treats that you can buy including a huge section for pick and mix. It is a mighty fine selection of sweets. There is also candyfloss and sweets in jars. My son used some of his money to purchase a bag of pick and mix to take away before purchasing an Chimney Cake to enjoy in the shop.

On the other side of the room is the counter where the staff create all kinds of sweet treats. It was hard to photograph as it was always busy but the bottom two photos show some of what is on offer.

I just had to sneak a photo of his Chimney cake to show you. It’s so filling! We have them or a bubble waffle as a lunch. You get to choose a sauce, sprinkles, ice cream and some sweets to go on top.

The Chimney Cakes come with 3 pricing options. You can have one with chocolate spread and toppings. Or 1 with chocolate spread, toppings and 1 flavour of ice cream. Or chocolate spread, toppings and two flavours of ice cream. You will pay around £7-9.

Their bubble waffles are my favourite. They are made fresh while you wait and just like with the Chimney cakes you can choose a sauce, ice cream, sprinkles and sweets to go on top.

The bubble waffles also come with 3 pricing options. You can have one with chocolate spread and toppings. Or 1 with chocolate spread, toppings and 1 flavour of ice cream. Or chocolate spread, toppings and two flavours of ice cream. You will pay around £7-9 for one bubble waffle.

You can also opt to have ice cream in a cone or a flavoured donut. They also sell hot and cold drinks. What are you waiting for?
