Fistral Beach

Fistral Beach

Located in the popular tourist town of Newquay, Fistral Beach is a large, sandy beach with amazing waves. An International Surfing Centre, this beach is known for its water sports and is sometimes called the home of British surfing.

You can book surfing lessons at the surf school here if you’re a beginner or, if you prefer, you can just rent your own board and wetsuit from one of the surf hire shops on the beach. If you’re not feeling that active, you can relax on the sandy beach and paddle in the clear waters.

There are plenty of places to eat on the beach from laidback beach bars to Rick Stein’s restaurant, and there are also shops on the beach for you to browse. There are showers and toilets here and there are plenty of car parks in Newquay. The beach also plays host to a number of events throughout the year including the Boardmasters festival and surfing and skating competitions.
