Museum Overview

The National Museum of Scotland is located in Edinburgh on Chambers Street. It explores the diversity of the natural world, world cultures, art, design, science and technology plus Scottish history. Formed in 2006 the museum is home to thousands of amazing objects across multiple galleries. To help you explore the museum and make new discoveries there are three trails on offer to take around with you.

You can explore how our earth and universe developed and see and explore how animals communicate and survive. There are interactive games that explore the history of innovation in Scotland and come face-to-face with iconic historical artefacts.

Their world cultures galleries help you to learn more about the diverse peoples and cultures in our world. The objects on display are some of the museum’s oldest.
