Porthminster Beach

Porthminster Beach

Porthminster Beach is one of the most picturesque and popular beaches, in Cornwall. The long crescent of sandy beach has pretty views over to St Ives and provides plenty of space for sunbathing, beach games and sandcastle building.  The clear waters are good for paddling and swimming and are one of the reasons Porthminster holds its well-deserved Blue Flag status.

Porthminster Beach Cafe is an excellent place to grab some refreshments while enjoying fantastic views of St Ives and Godrevy Lighthouse. There are shops nearby selling everything needed for a happy beach day and more amenities in St Ives itself.

Lifeguards man the beach from May to September. Park at pay and display Station Car Park which overlooks the beach but note this can get very busy. The beach is a short walk from the centre of St Ives if you happen to be staying there. Public toilets are located near the car park and include disabled access facilities and baby changing rooms. Dogs are welcome on this beach seasonally except between the first Sunday before Easter and 30 September when a dog ban is in place.
