Museum Overview

The Museum of Carpet is located in Kidderminster, Worcestershire. It houses an extensive collection of objects, archives, books and photos relating to the carpet-making industry.

Once a thriving carpet factory, the Stour Vale Mill is now the only museum dedicated to carpet making in the country. There are four galleries to explore and there is a trail for children to complete around the museum.

There are a range of displays and you can see hand loom and power loom demonstrations. All the family can get stuck in with their hands-on activities. You can learn about the 300 years of carpet-making history in Kidderminster. Demonstrations take place most days and it is worth enquiring when you arrive.
