The National Memorial Arboretum is located in Alrewas near Burton-on-Trent in Staffordshire. It is the British Site of National Remembrance and its objective is to honour the fallen, recognise service and sacrifice and foster pride in the British Armed Forces.

What is there to do at the National Memorial Arboretum?

They have something for all ages from outdoor trails to holiday activities and you can enjoy a leisurely walk that can end at one of their two children’s play areas. The site itself is around 150 acres and there are over 400 memorials of all shapes and sizes. Some are tucked away in gardens and woodland glades.

Younger visitors will enjoy their Stick Man Outdoor trail. Pick up a free copy of the self-led trail from their welcome desk. The largest memorial is the Armed Forces Memorial which is truly impressive. The welcome desk has maps and guidebooks to help you find your way around.

Complete with pre-recorded commentary you can take a trip on their Land Train and explore the grounds and the memorials you see along the way. This costs £6.50 per person. They also have guided tours which cost £4 pp.
