What is there to do at Sulgrave Manor?
The house was saved from ruin by donors from the UK and the USA and is now run by a charity. It is steeped in history and it has a legacy that unites nations. Through their exhibition, you can discover the origins of the Washington family’s wealth and how, when they crossed the Atlantic, their fortunes faded. You can also find out about George Washington.
You can get hands-on with history by playing board games in the Great Hall, dressing up like a Tudor and grinding spices in the kitchen. You will also be able to discover the stories of the people who have lived in the manor through the centuries.
Outdoors you can explore the garden which was designed in the early 1900s. They also host a number of annual events, including family-friendly activities. On Tuesdays, they run toddler time sessions with messy play areas. In the garden, there is a fun obstacle course for children.
