Woodthorpe Grange Park

Woodthorpe Grange Park

Woodthorpe Grange Park is a large Green-Flag awarded public park located on the northern edge of the city of Nottingham. It is one of the city’s largest parks and it includes a tropical plant house and formal landscaped gardens plus other facilities.

What is there to do at Woodthorpe Grange Park?

Within the park, there is The Grange which is a 19th-century Grade II listed manor house. The park it sits in is a mix of landscapes with formal gardens, greenhouses, grassland and small wooded areas. There are a few appealing features including a sunken garden with water features and an innovative train sculpture at the entrance to the old railway bridge. The celebrates the train line that once ran through the park.

Also in the park, there is a children’s play area plus pitch and putt and orienteering. The 18-hole pitch and putt sits on a hill slope around the old railway line and it is a fun alternative to a full course. It is open every day from March to October and weekends and bank holidays from November to February (closed on Christmas day).
