Hexham Abbey is a Grade I listed abbey of Christian worship located in Hexham, Northumberland. It was originally built in AD 674 with the abbey standing today having been built in the 12th century and also at the turn of the 20th century.

The abbey is home to a wealth of artefacts including an Anglo-Saxon crypt, the tombstone of a Roman soldier, exquisite sculptures and an ancient Bishop’s seat. There are some wonderful stained glass windows. They have tried to make the history of the Abbey as accessible to children as possible with their own visitor guide to take around with them.
