WWT Castle Espie
WWT Castle Espie is a wetland reserve located in Comber, County Down. Each season brings different species and spectacles to the centre including the arrival of almost the entire world’s population of Brent Geese during the winter months.
You can get up close to Ireland’s largest collection of native and exotic birds, ducks and geese. You can explore their woodland and shore-view walks plus their dedicated bird hides. There are always activities for the children to do during weekends and school holidays. Wildwood is a natural play area with den building and there is a climbing wall by the Limestone Pavillion.
Families will be able to enjoy the Secret Swamp trail. This is a fun active play experience with musical instruments, a wobbly bridge, secret mini doors, a toadstool glade and more. For children under 115 cm, there is an indoor Arctic-themed play area. Outdoors you can also enjoy pond dipping.
