The 18th-century gardens are surrounded by wider parkland where there has been evidence of medieval farming. Also in the grounds, there is St Mary’s church which is the only remaining part of a 13th-century priory.
Families can pick up family-friendly trails from the visitor reception to help them explore more of the site. They also run a number of family-friendly events, including seasonal, trails and they have a children’s wild play area.
