Lakeside Miniature Railway
Lakeside Miniature Railway is a 15-inch gauge single-track railway located in Southport, Merseyside. It runs along the seaward side of the Marine Lake and it is the oldest continuously running 15-inch gauge railway in the world.
The railway was built in 1911 and it has changed names and hands over the years. Trains run from the station at Southport Pleasureland to the station at Marine Parade and they operate when the main Pleasureland Park is open.
The current owner has started refurbishing and improving the track and its surroundings. He hopes to create a heritage museum and improve facilities for everyone. You can also take a spin on their beautiful carousel or slide down their Helter Skelter.
