Ordsall Hall
Ordsall Hall is a large former manor house located in Ordsall, Greater Manchester. It is situated close to Manchester City Centre and a stone’s throw from Salford Quays. It dates back more than 750 years although the oldest surviving parts of the present hall now only date back to the 15th century.
Today the hall is a welcoming and friendly historic house which tells the story of the hall and some of the people who made it their home. There is a range of rooms to explore including the kitchen, great hall, galleries, chambers and a coat of arms room.
Outside you can explore the gardens which have been designed to showcase garden elements which have been popular throughout history and are likely to have featured in the Hall’s history. There is a late Tudor-style knot garden, a 20th-century allotment, a herb garden, ornamental borders and more. Plus a number of stone artefacts. They run additional family-friendly activities during the school holidays and they have Discovery bags to borrow. Craft activities are also often available.
