Dragon Miniature Railway
The Dragon Miniature Railway is located in Dobbies Garden Centre Marple near Stockport, Greater Manchester. They are a small volunteer-based organisation that runs their 7.25″ gauge miniature railway in the grounds of the garden centre.
The railway includes steep gradients, sharp curves, a tunnel and a bridge. They have a fleet of steam and petrol locomotives that you haul your train past these and other features along the track. Kids and adults alike are welcome to ride on their miniature trains. After your train ride why not let your child have a ride on Tara the tram? Your child will be the driver of the tram and they will drive it down its own line, all for just 50p. Two children can ride at once and Tara runs on a 250ft long track. This is a pretty unique experience for kids.
Also at the miniature railway, there is a children’s play area. At no extra cost, you can request that the train stops at Riverside Halt where you can alight to go to the play area and catch a later train back, all on the same ticket. The picnic and play area is open every day from March until September. You must supervise your children as there is a river nearby.
