Dartmouth Steam Railway

The Dartmouth Steam Railway is based on the glorious South Devon coastline. They run a 6.7-mile heritage railway on the former Great Western Railway branch line between Paignton and Kingswear plus boat cruises.
What is there to do at Dartmouth Steam Railway?
There are a variety of ticket options available which can include a steam and cruise ticket or a steam train ride, river boat and bus visiting Paignton, Dartmouth and Totnes. The steam train journey is considered one of the finest in the country. It travels along the coast of Torbay through the countryside and overlooks the River Dart.
You can start your journey from a number of different places and include a visit to most of them during your day out. If you combine it with a boat trip there are even more options for your day out. They have a large fleet of boats that operate on the River Dart and in Torbay for sea-going voyages plus the Western Lady Ferry operation. They also have a historic paddle steamer the Kingswear Castle which is the last remaining coal-fired paddle steamer in the UK.
Their steam and cruise trip is a full-day excursion. It includes a 30-minute train from Paignton to Kingswear. Then a 10-minute ferry from Kingswear. A 60-minute cruise to Dartmouth, then a 10-minute crossing from Dartmouth to Kingswear and a 30-minute train journey back to Paignton.

What are the ticket prices?
An adult train ticket costs £19.95, children £13.50. Train and cruise tickets cost £29.50 for an adult and £18 for a child. Other pricing options are available including family tickets.
