Scone Palace

Scone Palace

Scone Palace is a historical site located in Perthshire, Scotland and has over 1000 years of history. It is the original home of the Stone of Destiny which is an oblong block of red sandstone that has been used for centuries in the coronation of the monarchs of Scotland.

Today the site is a major attraction to visitors from all over the world. The buildings were rebuilt into a gothic palace around 1803 and the Mansfield family still lives there today. They offer an array of guided tours around the palace which will take you through the wonderful staterooms. You can follow in the footsteps of 42 Kings and explore their unique collections.

Outside there are 100 acres of woodland gardens with borders, walled gardens and trees. There is a woodland playground with a rope slide, swings, climbing walls, slides and more. The grounds are home to a variety of wildlife including roe deer and red squirrels. You can enjoy one of their many nature trails and there is even a beech maze to explore. The maze was planted in 1991 with 2,000 trees and over 800 metres of paths.
