Scottish Owl Centre
The Scottish Owl Centre is located in Polkemmet Park in Whitburn, West Lothian. You can explore the themed rooms of the centre meeting over 100 owls from all across the world.
From the giant Siberian Eagle Owl to the tiny Scops Owl, you can learn about their habits and habitats and how to help in the conservation. The centre was opened on this site to the public in 2012. They specialise in owls rather than raptors because they want to portray their unique charisma and charm which is often eclipsed by the more dramatic hawks and falcons.
There is Shortie’s chute which is their adventure playground. Plus there is a hands-on owl school with an interactive education area and some awesome flying displays. Kids will especially love the really small owls and the themed areas include the North Pole. Boreal Forest, Rainforest Realm, Beat of British and more. You can even crawl into a nest box and learn to speak barn owl.
You can also enjoy all the other facilities within the main park. These include an adventure playground, a 9-hole golf course, a golf driving range, woodland walks and a cafe.
