Royal Commonwealth Pool

The Royal Commonwealth Pool is located in Edinburgh. It has become Scotland’s most iconic leisure centre and is in a category A listed building. It is usually referred to simply as the Commonwealth Pool and locally as the ‘Commie’. The pool has actually been used for the Commonwealth Games back in 1970, 1986 and 2014. It was shut for a few years while it underwent some major remodelling and reopened in 2012.

The pool includes 25 metres diving and teaching pools plus the city’s only 50-metre swimming pool. They even now offer public diving sessions plus some fun inflatable sessions called ‘Aquadash’. There are fitness classes, a gym, holiday clubs and a sports hall.

Also on-site is the Clambers soft play. This had a new play frame installed in 2022 with an aquatic theme. There are slides, an upper-storey football pitch and many more exciting features. They offer 60-90 minute sessions with no need to book.

Soft play – prices vary greatly as they offer mid-week and peak sessions plus 60-90 minutes. A 3-10-year-old for 60 minutes costs £6.95. Please see the website for all other pricing options.
Swimming is £6.95 per non-card holder. £5.70 for a casual swim.
