Caol Ruadh Sculpture Park
The Caol Ruadh Sculpture Park is located in Colintraive, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It is an outdoor gallery that promotes and sells contemporary sculptures. It is set in the grounds of a private house with some beautiful grounds. The sculptures are scattered around the grounds.
The estate and house were completed in 1898 and are close to the shore, opposite the Burnt Islands on the Kyles of Bute. Over the last 20 years, the land surrounding the house has been gradually turned into a series of gardens. There are rocky bluffs and cliffs which offer both a beautiful setting and some dramatic backdrops for the sculptures.
The first exhibition opened in 2012 and is displayed amongst and close to a large pond, cliffs, a wildflower garden with ponds and bridges and a small walled garden. Plus a woodland walk with a revived gravel garden. Ancient rocks have been exposed to add to the dramatic backdrop. Each exhibition offers fresh experiences to its visitors.
