HMS Unicorn

HMS Unicorn

The HMS Unicorn is located on the dockside in Dundee, Angus, Scotland. It was originally built by the Royal Navy in the Royal Dockyard at Chatham and was first launched in 1824.

The ship is a rare survivor from the days of sail and is the most original ship in the world. It is a remarkable ship that is today preserved as a museum and visitor attraction. The HMS Unicorn is one of the six oldest ships in the world and Scotland’s only representative of the sailing navy.

On board, you can view a historic collection that spans over 200 years of British maritime and naval history. The collection helps to tell the ship’s story from its origins to her century of service in Dundee. There are thousands of individual pieces and objects to be seen. For children, there are hands-on activities to take part in, plus picture hunt trails.
