The Gordon Highlanders Museum
Museum Overview
The Gordon Highlanders Museum is located near the centre of Aberdeen. It features displays, interactive maps, weaponry and uniforms from the 200-year history of the army regiment.
For 200 years the North East of Scotland gave us one of the finest regiments the British Army has ever seen – The Gordon Highlanders. They were formed by ordinary men with an extraordinary sense of duty. Their stories are brought to life at the museum.
The museum is situated in the fashionable west end of Aberdeen, in the former home of the leading Scottish artist Sir George Reid. The Regiment’s story begins during Napoleonic times and continues through the Victorian and Edwardian eras. Then through both World Wars and onwards through the 20th century. Highlights include a WWI replica trench, extensive armoury, Regiment Silver, an authentic officers’ mess and memorial gardens.
