Museum Overview
The Grampian Transport Museum is located in Alford, Aberdeenshire. It is an award-winning transport museum that charts the history of transport in the northeast of Scotland through displays, climb-aboard vehicle exhibits and video presentations.
The museum was formed in the early 1970s by a group of local transport enthusiasts and collectors. Major exhibits include the world’s oldest Sentinel Steam Waggon from 1914, a giant Mach Snowplow and a working model of Robert Davidson’s motor for electric traction.
Other exhibits include historic automobiles, motorcycles, a double-decker bus, bikes and steam vehicles. Plus an electric tram, toy model vehicles and transport memorabilia. There is also a fun junior driving school for children aged 4-8 years, this is included in your visit.
