Home of Rest for Old Horses
The Home of Rest for Old Horses is located on Richmond Hill on the Isle of Man. They are open to visitors from mid-May until October.
The centre was started in 1950 by two sisters. They wanted to provide a home to many of the island’s old working horses that had nowhere to go. They now have over 90 acres of land which are home to over 60 horses and ponies plus 11 donkeys.
They have looked after hundreds of horses during their time and they are still going from strength to strength. They even now have a cafe and a gift shop. You can even purchase horse food so you can go and feed the horses yourselves.
