878 AD

878 AD

878 AD is a relatively new attraction located in the Brooks Shopping Centre in Winchester, Hampshire. It is an experience in two parts with an interactive attraction with live performances and augmented reality plus a self-led app tour of Winchester.

Live performances will bring the everyday stories of the people of Anglo-Saxon Winchester to life. You will be amazed by real Anglo-Saxon objects including the Winchester Reliquary which is the only one known to have been found in England.

You will be able to try your hand at Anglo-Saxon games and take on the quest to reveal the hiding places of precious objects with their children’s trail. The app is available for download during your visit to the attraction. You will explore the lost buildings of Winchester’s past and collect map fragments that reveal Alfred’s lasting legacy plus other fun things to do.
