A Bay To Remember

A Bay To Remember

A Bay To Remember offers dolphin and wildlife-watching boat trips from Gwbert, near Cardigan, Wales. They offer a range of boat tours with trips ranging from 1-2 hours with something suitable for all ages.

They have been providing trips since 2007 with two boats taking you on tours of the local coastline. Their most popular trip is the Bay Explorer. This is a 1-hour trip and is a family holiday favourite, children must be at least 4 years of age. The trip takes you past 10 miles of coastline heading first to Cardigan Island which is an important nesting area. They then take you through an area popular with dolphins. Then hopefully on to spot some seals where the boats are ideal for entering caves.

Their 1.5-hour extended bay explorer is for enthusiastic wildlife watchers. It includes the trip above plus some extra time exploring further along the coast. On average they see bottlenose dolphins and/or harbour porpoises on 80% of their 1.5-hour trips. They also offer a 2-hour premier bay explore trip, both this trip and the one above are suitable for those aged 8 and over. This trip builds around the 1.5-hour trip and allows more time to explore the coast and increase your chance of seeing dolphins. Their average for seeing dolphins and/or harbour porpoises is 90% on the 2-hour trips.

Please note – there aren’t any public toilet facilities at their departure point in Gwbert. The nearest toilets, if you are travelling from Cardigan, are at the junction of the B4548, close to Cardigan Rugby Club. For trips departing from Poppit Sands, there are public toilets by the RNLI station.
