Activities Away

Activities Away is an outdoor watersports centre in South Hykeham, near Lincoln in Lincolnshire. As it is seasonal, it is closed over the autumn and winter. The activities take place at an old gravel pit south of Lincoln just a 10-minute drive from the A1 motorway.

They offer a good range of water-based activities from early April until the end of September. These include sit-on-top kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and Katakanus. All equipment hire is included, this includes the wetsuits, buoyance aids, helmets and reactive safety cover. They also offer family tickets which are great value for up to 6 people.

Open water swimming sessions are also provided every week when the centre is open. Plus RYA shore-based and practical courses. You can also purchase self-launch tickets for just £7.50 an hour or £10 for 2 hours. You can reserve your activity on their website but please check with them first that your chosen date and time is available.

Is there food and drink available?

There is a cafe on-site which sells a selection of hot and cold food and drinks including artisan pizzas.

Watersports centre with kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and Katakanu hire, plus open water swimming. There are toilets and a cafe.

What are the ticket prices?

An adult activity ticket is £15 and children £7.50, this is for a 1-hour rental of a SUP or kayak. giant SUP hire for 2 adults and 1 child is £30 and Katakanu for up to 6 people is £30.
