Alyn Waters Country Park

Alyn Waters Country Park is located in Gwersyllt, near Wrexham in North Wales. It is the largest country park in the area and it is a Green Flag Award accredited site.
The park is home to a variety of woodland, grassland and riverside walks. The park is split in two by the River Alyn. There is parking with a visitor centre, cafe, gift shop and toilets. Within the visitor centre, there is a permanent exhibition that details the history and wildlife of the park.
On the Llay side, there is a children’s playground and a nature reserve. Some of the paths are wide and tarmacked, although one has a steep gradient. Wooden pots indicate the selection of coloured footprint walks that suit most people’s abilities. There are 6 different coloured walks that you can follow. The park also has a variety of paths for cyclists to enjoy. There is a 2-mile cycleway that starts at the visitor centre and a sculpture trail which offers safe off-road cycling for families.
