It is set in the heart of the beautiful Peak District and the house was once a Tudor dwelling. The house was rescued from demolition in the 1950s and it is now an award-winning museum . Their collections are as varied as the building itself.
Many of the artefacts have been donated by local residents over the last sixty years with a story behind each one. There are ceremonial swords, ceramics, textiles, toys, cameras and more. You can hear more about the objects via interactive QR codes. For families, there is a rat trail that you can follow. There are also courtyard games and other hands-on activities.
