Bala Lake Railway

The Bala Lake Railway (Welsh: Rheilffordd Llyn Tegid) is a narrow-gauge railway that journeys along the southern shore of Bala Lake in Gwynedd, North Wales. The line is 4 1/2 miles long.
The railway offers a delightful 9-mile return journey alongside the lake through the beautiful Snowdonia National Park. Their steam trains give excellent views of the lake including the nearby mountains of Arenig Fawr. Aran Benlyyn and Aran Fawddwy.
The line stops or passes by a number of stations. The railway’s HQ is located in the pretty Welsh village of Llanuwchllyn where there is ample free parking, refreshments, a small gift shop, picnic tables and a heritage centre that is open when the railway is open. All trains start and finish here. The railway hosts a number of special events.

There is a cafe serving hot and cold food and drinks. You are welcome to bring a picnic (There is even a covered picnic area).

What are the ticket prices?
An adult return ticket costs £12-13. Children £4-4.50. Dogs are £1, other pricing options including family tickets are available.
