Barbarafield Riding School
The Barbarafield Riding School is located in Cupar, Fife. They are located 15 minutes from St Andrews and offer everything from a 20-minute intro to riding session to a 3-hour experienced hack. Popular with kids are their half-day or full-day pony experiences.
Opened in 1956 the family has since been running riding sessions starting with their family ponies on their farm. Their popular 1-hour farmland rides go out daily throughout the year and their pony experiences run during the holidays and lessons during term time.
They run hacks where all experiences can be catered for. Rides go through the 300 acres of farmland that the Berwick family own through local tracks and the newly opened Pilgrimes Way. Rides can be split into smaller groups so experienced riders can have a canter while the novices or beginners can take a shortcut for a walk and a trot to catch up.
Instruction is given as and when required by qualified instructors. For the little ones, they run a 20-minute intro or half-hour instructional hack which is a great start to horse riding. There are fun days held for children as well as fun lessons which include pony games.
