The Beck Isle Museum is located in the centre of Pickering, North Yorkshire. It is a social history museum with period displays, bringing history to life.
At the Gateway, to the North Yorkshire Moors Pickering has a long and interesting history. At the museum, you will find out what life was like in this thriving market town. You can visit shops from the past and discover the craft of the blacksmiths. There are 25 different rooms within the museum to explore.
They have a printing press that they sometimes get up and running for demonstrations. The museum hosts a number of special events and family-friendly activities. It has a beck-side location which is a lovely spot to enjoy a picnic. Once you have purchased your tickets you can return for free for the next 12 months as much as you like.
