Bewl Water

Bewl Water is a countryside park with land and water-based activities in Lamberhurst, Kent. The reservoir straddles the boundary of Kent and East Sussex and the full walk around the reservoir is 12.5 miles.

You can choose to walk some or all of the 12.5 reservoir paths which follows a collection of forest paths, country lanes and all-weather surfaces. You can also hire bikes or bring your own. There is a range of water sports activities on the reservoir including sailing, pedalos, rowing boats, canoeing, paddleboarding and windsurfing. There is also open water swimming and an aqua park.

The aqua park is 2400 square metres of inflatable fun consisting of an ice tower, XXL action tower, balance bar, flip mattress, monkey bars and more. Suitable for children and adults who can swim from the age of 8. There is a pirate ship adventure play area featuring a range of timber structures. There is even a children’s fishing pond. Indoors at the Waterfront cafe there is a soft play area for children up to the age of 6.

Is there food and drink available?

There is a waterfront cafe serving hot and cold food and drinks. You are welcome to bring a picnic.

What are the main things to do?

Reservoir with walks and cycle paths, water sports, aqua park, pirate ship adventure playground. There are toilets and a cafe.

What are the ticket prices?

The reservoir is free to visit. There is a small charge if arriving by car and some of the activities have a charge.

Is there parking?

There is an on-site car park and charges apply.

When are they open?

Bewl Water is open all year round. They have varying opening hours. Please visit their website for up-to-date opening times.

Dog friendly?

Dogs are allowed on site but they must be kept under control at all times. No dogs (with the exception of guide dogs) are allowed inside The Waterfront Café or Boathouse Bistro. Although, they are allowed on the patio seating area just outside the Café.

Are they accessible?

The main visitor area, The Waterfront Café and The Boat House Bistro are all accessible to wheelchairs. Sections of path extending from the main car park to both Seven Pound Creek Jetty and to Heatherells Jetty are suitable for wheelchairs with wide tyres.
