Bodleian Library
The Bodleian Library is located in the centre of Oxford and it is one of the oldest libraries in Europe. It is the second-largest library in Britain and it has 26 libraries across Oxford. Today you can visit the main library and take a guided tour around it or discover more about the University of Oxford and the city itself on a walking tour. They also have free exhibitions which are open every day at the Weston Library.
You can look inside the Divinity School which is the University of Oxford’s oldest teaching room for £2.50 pp. Or you can join a guided tour of the Bodleian Library and Radcliffe camera. These must be booked in advance and there is a charge for their walking tours. This is the only way for members of the public to see inside these library spaces and they are for adults and children from the age of 11.
There is a cafe at Blackwell Hall and the Weston Library which are free to visit. The exhibitions at Weston Library are also free, entry. Their walking tours run daily and last from 90-120 minutes. They are priced from £20 per person and they must be booked in advance. These tours start and end at the Weston Library and you will take in the historic streets of Oxford, following in the footsteps of famous authors, scientists, politicians and film stars.
As part of the City of Oxford walking tour, you will see inside the Divinity School, as well as the exterior of the Bodleian Library, the Radcliffe Camera and the streets surrounding the central Bodleian site. Their walking tours are conducted by accredited and qualified guides.
