Bodmin and Wenford Railway
The Bodmin and Wendford Railway is based in Bodmin, Cornwall. They offer heritage steam train rides and sections of the railway opened in the mid to late 19th century. After just a few years of closure, the line was reopened by the Bodmin Railway Preservation Society.
Today the railway runs for a length of 6.5 miles from Bodmin Parkway through to Boscarne Junction via the line’s principal station at Bodmin General. They run passenger train services for around 210 days a year. Plus they run driver experience days, event trains and more.
The full-length track is 13 miles in length and takes around 2 hours by steam. The line is steeply graded for most of its length and has many curves. An ‘all line ticket’ enables visitors to pay once and travel both branch lines.
